In accordance with the Constitution, offices of the Executive Board are open for election every 4 years. Such elections will take place online during the one month preceding the APSID Congress of the election year. However, considering the cancellation of the joint congress this year, we decide to hold it at the IEI School in December 2026.

Currently, the APSID Executive Board has staggered terms; only Professor Amit Rawat (Secretary) and Dr. Narissara Suratannon (Chair of the Education and Training Working Party) will end their terms early by the end of 2026 due to the resignation of former members in the past. To synchronize the terms, the executive board has agreed to extend their appointments until 2028. Consequently, only the election for the President-Elect will be held in the upcoming vote.

Positions open for contest in the 2026 election:

1. President-Elect (2027-2029)

Voting for constitutional amendment:

In addition to the election for the president-elect, several proposed amendments to the APSID constitution will be approved by electronic voting, requiring a two-thirds majority of attending members. The updates are as follows:

1. Introduction of a new working party chair: Advocacy and Engagement Working Party Chair.
2. The Working Party for Cellular Therapy & Transplant will cease to exist
3. Terms of executive board members may be extended for up to 4 years after a vote by the executive board in case of (1) no candidate eligible for election of a post (2) to align election years of EB members.
4. Membership fee revisions: Junior members are now defined as those under 35 years of age; members from the PID alliance are now categorized under ASID, CIS, ESID, LASID, AAIAT, and MSAI.
